Research Phase 1
Competitive Benchmarking
In the competitive world of hotel booking websites, standing out is essential. Through thorough benchmarking, I dissected industry leaders' strategies, uncovering both their successes and areas for improvement. This phase was about understanding what works, what doesn't, and where opportunities lie.
Research Phase 2
Usability Testing & Test Notes
User feedback is gold. Through usability tests, real users provided invaluable insights into their experiences with hotel booking sites. Their comments and frustrations, meticulously documented, guided my design decisions, making sure to address user pain points and honor mental models.
Research Phase 3
Affinity Diagram
Making sense of research data can feel like navigating a maze. The affinity diagram brought order to chaos, helping to identify patterns, pain points, and opportunities for innovation. It was like piecing together a puzzle—each sticky note contributing to the bigger picture.
Research Phase 4
Customer Journey Map
Every booking is a story waiting to unfold. Mapping out the customer journey—from deciding to travel to booking confirmation—gave me a deep understanding of user needs and emotions at each stage. This narrative became a compass, guiding me towards an experience that exceeds user expectations.
Research Phase 5
User Flow Diagram
The user flow diagram laid out the path users take through the booking process, ensuring each step was intuitive and seamless. This step was about simplifying, streamlining, and making the journey hassle-free.
Design Phase 1
Low Fidelity Prototype
With research insights, I began sketching out ideas for the interface. The low-fidelity prototype served as a starting point—a basic blueprint to test concepts and iterate quickly. It provided a solid foundation for further refinement.
Design Phase 2
High Fidelity Prototypes
Moving forward, I translated the low-fidelity prototype into medium to high fidelity designs using Figma. These prototypes brought the design vision to life with polished interfaces and interactive elements.
